Invector vs Invector Plus
Does anybody know the difference in Browning Invector and Invector Plus. I am looking for a barrel only for A5 Japan gun and have found it in both variations.

INVECTOR + is the latest design will not interchange with early invector. . Claim to give better pattern sort of like back boring. 0 -
THE DIFFERENCE IS THE INSIDE BARREL DIA. INVECTOR= STD. 12 GA., ABOUT .729"(+-); INVECTOR+ = .740"(+-) THE REASONING IS THE OLDER BARRELS WERE BORED FOR PAPER SHELL THAT ARE THICKER (LESS INSIDE DIA.) THAT THE 'NEWER' PLASTIC SHELLS, THE '+' MATCHES THE INSIDE DIEMENTIONS OF THE PLASTIC BETTER. 0 -
You need to remember that the Invector Plus choke tube is a lot longer then the Invector choke tube.
The choke tubes do not interchange.
As I said on another forum and got nailed to the cross for doing so, the thread on the choke tube is the same between the Remington and the Browning Invector Plus.
Even the Remington - Rem Tube is a little shorter then the Invector Plus choke tube - but in a pinch it can be used if you wrap the threads with nylon tape. Because the Rem choke tube is shorter - you run the risk of blowing the choke tube clean out of the barrel - making the barrel useless - with the right load.
So that is why I am saying - not to do it and that I was just using this as a comparison between the two.0 -
Get the INV+ barrel, they're backbored and pattern much better. The choke tubes interchange with Win and Mossberg too. 0 -
I have a Browning Citori with the Invector system, and a Winchester 101 with the Invector Plus. The Plus choke is longer. The Winchester is backbored, and shoots awesome. The Browning is awesome too. I REALLY cannot see any difference at all other than the size when I take them out. I can say that it seems like local gunstores and even my local Bass Pro has a MUCH better selection of Invector Chokes, and relatively few Invector Plus chokes. Of course, you can find ANY type of choke you want online. To me, a nobody, it would come down to the price of the barrel. 0
