S&W Pistol NO model just 1183

I have a S&W pistol that is nickle with Ivory handles
I have beed told thar it was a 38short
it has NO trigger guard didn't come with one

Can someone fill me in on this gun
I can send pictures if needed

  S & W made a number of different "Spur Trigger", .38, Top Breaks, from the 1870's to as late as 1911.
  
  
  We need quality photos of your revolver and all the markings on it.
