Lou Reno Holsters?
Anyone recognize this name? from Okeechobee, FL?
I have this open front holster that seems to be for a 6+ inch S&W revolver, but with more top barrel room than seems to be needed (for custom revolvers?)
Any help or info on the item and name would be appreciated [:D]

I had - may still have - a Reno holster like that.
The complete open front design is for PPC shooting with revolvers having bull barrels up to 1 1/8" diameter and full length Bomar ribs.
Since no movement is required and stages are timed, ease of draw is more important than security. The snap strap is enough to get from your car to the firing line without dropping the gun, it is not used during the match.0 -
thank you for your input

Most (make that all) of the Reno Holsters I have seen fit medium frame (K Frame) revolvers and are designed for the custom heavy barrels with the sight ribs. I tried to find one that fit the L Frame and even inquired on other forums if they were ever made for the L Frame but no luck. A L frame will go into the holster but the cylinder will not seat fully into the recess because of the larger frame so use of the retention strap is a very good idea when not on the firing line. 0
