why would you want to detract from a Winchester, albeit post 64, to run a Ted Williams, event though it was made by Winchester? It will have to have the headspace checked.

Leave the bolt in the 1969 Theodore Roosevelt Commemorative and run a want ad in the classifieds if there isn't a used Win 94 bolt list in the auctions. Give me an email if necessary. Any bolt change will require headspacing.

I bought the ted williams, when I got it i noticed two drill holes on the top of the breech bolt where some genieus tried to mount a scope I guess. Have no idea, really stupid, must have been a kid, they drilled through the extractor and the back end top of the bolt. Anyway, I don't care where the breech bolt comes from, someone selling a breech bolt on ebay who am I to tell them to keep the thing. I only want to know if it will fit. Anyone know the 64 well enough to determine what years/styles are compatible? Thanks.

Not really a genius. There was a peep sight that was made that rides on the bolt, but that was mounted near the rear. They were few and far between. However, in the hole locations, you have stated, sounds like they were attempting something else.
