I'm a Grandpa at 65 !
Fist Born son Billy and wife Jill had their daughter at 2.28 am EST.
I'm a first time Grandpa at 65 ! Hope I get to live long enough to enjoy the ups and downs.
They called at 2.18 am on the 30th and said her water broke, and were on way to Hospital. I was just on my way to bed, after nodding off in my recliner.
We waited all day and my wife finally went to bed,, around 11pm (late for her). I grabbed a book and was reading when i got the news!
First time, for US and Them. The have a young 5 year old foster boy and had given up on conceiving, and then… They are both just at 40 years old.

I am a member of that club . My wife and I had gave up hope for any grand kids . when i was 64 yrs old (3 yrs ago )
My youngest son and his wife had "Gunner "our 1st grand kid than about 8 months back we gaind our 2nd from them " Opal " one happy little girl both are now the Joy's of our life
Like You we just have to enjoy all the time we can with them
we hope to live long enought to enjoy them for a long as we can And they at least they have some good memories from their grandparents

The only problem, is we have to travel about an hour to see them. My wife is retiring this year so we will have more time.
And we get along with Jill's folk real well. We're going to be a great set of grand parents. .
Working on an adoption too for their foster child (son).

Congratulations! My only grandson will be 2 tomorrow. I was 61 when he was born. Like one friend told me that his grandson made him glad he didn't kill his son when he would have like to. :-)

Congrats we have 4 , oldest is 12 , youngest is 4 , 2 boys, 2 girls, all 4 belong to my Son and his Wife , but # 5 will be here end of feb. he will be the first for our Daughter and her Husband

Now comes the hard part, deciding what you will be called. I went with Mimi, my hubbie was Pawpaw. The grandparents-in-law of the two grandsons who are visiting this week are Meemaw and Peepaw. He wanted to be called grandpa but the boys called him Peepaw from the time they could talk. He was stuck with it. Combined, they are now Meepaw. 😆

Very cool! I get number 2 in March. I don't understand all the goofy names people want. It's just grandpa for me.
