I haven't loaded for 44mag lately, but I used 4227 and H110. Don't go below the minimum load for H110. It can be dangerous.

H-110 has proven to be a clean-burning powder that allows full potential of the .44 Magnum. As said, don’t go beythr minumim in the manuals. I have loaded only the Keith-style semi-wadcutter for forty plus years.

When I had a .44 magnum, H110 and 2400 were my go to powders. I loaded hard cast 240 gr semi wadcutters (Keith style).

I could get by just fine with Unique and 4895. With the price of powder now a days, 10 grains of unique will give you 700 rounds per pound and won't give you flinchitis. Also great in lots of cast bullet loads in rifles. Match ammo is easily accomplished with 4895 in many rifle calibers. It may be a bit slower than some of the new stuff they are hyping, but a hit at 2700 fps always beats out a miss at 3000. Remington has been around since 1816 I believe, and will continue to be a great American product at a fair price. My oldest Remington is a Rolling Block 45-70 (13 grains Unique and a 465 cast Lee bullet) and it is deadly. Keep on truckin' my friend.

My .44 deer loads were 296 powder with 25 grains.  300 gr. copper HP Hornadies & win primers. I set the lead out to the upper ring.  DEADLY.
