Start by contacting the seller as a 1st step

I don't know the rules but thst would be my first action the seller may be able to void your bid

But you may still get a ding from GB depending on how the seller handles it

One Of the dealers on here may jump in on the procedure for you

If you ask the seller to cancel your bid they can contact customer support and they are pretty quick to get that type of request handled.

I did that once and had to let the auction run its course. I finally got outbid. I didn't accidentally bid, but found out through the course of bidding, the gun was not a Lew Horton. I called to verify the gun was not a Lew Horton and contacted the seller to let him know. He refused to retract my bid. I feel sorry for the guy that won.

Like the others have said Eddie, contact the seller ASAP and explain the issue. He may have GB remove your bid.

LF can the seller use the block bid option?

Thank you all for the helpful information. I have contacted the seller and he has responded by asking my bidder name. I am embarrassed to say I bid almost $800.00 on the gun thinking I was bidding on a completely different weapon and seller. I seriously doubt anyone will outbid me on that old top break! I sure got my wires crossed! Like D. R. said, I may have to take a ding. Thanks again, Eddie

Just because you bid $800 doesn't mean it will sell for that. You may actually get it for half that. I have made crazy bids before but they were all my fault so I ate them.

One time I was looking for 10 boxes of 7mm Rem Mag, 200 rounds. Most were priced about $275-$300 but I saw one for $210 which I quickly jumped on. Turns out it was for 100 rounds. In a later ammo panic I sold a few boxes to a friend for $50/box. I also found some at a gun show for $14/box. It was made in an eastern European country, I think Serbia, but it worked OK.

Post a link. I’ll bid it up close to your price so you don’t feel like you overpaid.

You are living up to your reputation, but I couldn't allow that on our first date, after all, we haven't been formally introduced!

I did that once. I hoped I'd be outbid but I wasn't. Error was on me so I paid for it, and when I went to my FFL, I just left it there on consignment (something I almost never do). I dropped it 30% and it eventually sold.

I went through with auction and didn't ask seller partly out of pride since it was my own mistake. It was also partly because it was an individual with good feedback, but not a lot. I think it was around 25 total feedback. I remember a time when I first signed up and was spending so much time here on the forums on here in the early 2000's when I listed some of my firearms. I was selling because we needed the money to live on since I was 'down on my back' for a year and a half between my back surgeries.
