I don't really need a DNA background check. I have a book of family lineage/heritage going back beyond 1700 that tells me all I need/want to know. Almost half of that time has been spent in the community where I currently live.

It pretty much goes along with family lore. Mostly Welsh, Irish and Scottish. I am .01 percent Indian, that's weird the family never talked about that one, but I'm more Indian than the Senator from Massachusetts.
One interesting finding: I am 3.1 percent Neanderthal. All people of northern European ancestry carry some Neanderhal DNA, but, I take the cake! I have more Neanderthal DNA than 96 percent of people in the world. I am the living Cave Man.

Here's a pic of the family get together in The Cave in December, northern Scotland in 48,986 BC. We had such a wonderful Christmas that year.
Sometimes, people disparage Neanderthals, or even, "make fun" of us, but in fact we had it pretty good. I'm the kid right front holding the rock, I was just 8 years old. You can see Uncle Alf got his hand chewed off by a Cave Bear, somehow, he survived.

Those were discontinued in 2020. Probably replaced 'em with something made in China.
