A Wedding Ring Story
It's a simple gold band. My grandparents were married the last few days of 1900. Grandpa died in 1954. When Marcia and I were about to be married in 1957 (we were both 19), I asked Grandma if I could have Grandpa's wedding ring. Marcia died of cancer in 1963. I continued to wear that ring until I took it off at my marriage to Diane in 1968. When my older brother was about to be married (for the second time) in 1992, I asked him if he wanted Grandpa's ring. Diane died of cancer in 2016. My brother died in 2017. My sister-in-law gave me back the ring. Marilyn and I were married in 2017 and now she wears the ring. Grandpa wore it for 54 years, I wore it for 10, my brother wore it for 25, and now Marilyn has worn it for 7 years and counting.

Not a ring, but Julie wears my Grand Mothers (Born in 1876) engraved gold watch on a necklace.

Great story.
I've never worn a wedding band. Never felt the need to announce my maritial status plus I knew several men who lost a finger due to wearing rings.

Cursed I'd say. Take the $40 from a pawn broker for that or toss it in to a volcano Frodo style.
