Scalloped oysters #2
No, but I sure do remember the steamed clams back in Pa. Company picnics always had them steaming in big tubs and we ate them with lots of butter. My Mom had a steamer and made them at home, Pop loved them. The closest I have gotten to them is steamed mussels at the Atlantis in Reno, Nv. Needless to say, I get my share.

I love me some steamed or raw clams. Started eating them at a very early age of 6 or 8. Parents thought I wouldn’t like them when they had me try them and I was hooked. This is making me hungry for some.

Clams are good. Only way they're bad is when they're full of grit. love to get me one of those 20 pound South Sea giant clam to try out.

We have dug and cooked steamers several times. My inlaws had some beach front on the sound at one point.

My late father-in-law got me into eating oysters on a half shell (raw). Of coarse, several beers had to be consumed before such endevours took place!
I also enjoy a good bowl of clam chowder and fried clam strips too!

No scalloped or steamed, but I did go to Maggies Galley in Waynesville, NC, and had a dozen blue point on the half shell.
