In 'Nam back when, the Army had a "Santa Bou" which was a C-7 Caribou aircraft decked out with a Santa face complete with red nose. Story here…

When you read about the "Doughnut Dollies" do not think bad things. These women were Red Cross nurses and professional through and through. The fact that they brought fresh doughnuts and good coffee to far flung posts was appreciated, but not nearly as much as simply getting to see actual "round eye" woman after living among the Vietnamese for months. You have no idea how much we missed seeing eyes and hearing voices like theirs.

Awesome story. Thanks for posting the link. Amazing how such a small gesture brought joy and light to those men in the darkest days of their lives.

Thanks for the C-130 picture at Little Rock AFB. I have 10,000 flying hours as a Navigator on active duty and the Air force Reserve, almost all of it in the C-130 aircraft. It is a very reliable aircraft.

Neat display. I love the C-130! I might be biased, but I think my people have the best colors. Took this pic in Saint Thomas about 23 years ago right before we headed home.

I know there are more exciting planes out there, but it’s still always a treat for me to see one of these beasts come lumbering over the beach at 500 ft.
