I prefer it but I don't cook it like this myself. Also the stuffing adds to the bird.

Yes but just for keeping bird moist. Bake a pan of stuffing in the oven for eating with smashed taters.

My mom cooked it inside the bird and I have eaten many pounds of such stuffing, all drenched in hot turkey juice, delicious! Never got sick.

My girlfriend says it is dangerous and cooks stuffing in a separate pan.

Yep, that's the way we (my wife AKA the warden) does it. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I cooked mine in the crockpot this year… only because my oven is gas, and needs to be regulated and so I sent the turkey with my dad to the ranch, and he put it in the oven after he did the chores. We forgot to buy turkey bags. Anyway, I had him put the turkey breast side down… it turned out pretty good 😊

I've had oyster dressing once when attending in-law related relatives Thanksgiving dinner. It tasted good but I cracked a tooth on an out of place oyster shell.

I have always followed my late moms dressing recipe using pork sausage, celery, and onions with fresh sage.

My wife detests oysters so that'll never happen here.

Mom and grandma always stuffed the bird, aside from another big batch cooked outside the bird.

At our house wife has always done stuffing outside the bird. She cooks two batches, one regular and one with oysters.

Gizzard is stuffed up front. Meat from the neck goes in the gravy. The liver??? you can have the liver, gizzard is about as far as I go when it comes to eating organs. Lol

Mom always had the stuffing cooked in the turkey. I have used the pan method and make a lot. For Thanksgiving I eat stuffing (actually, I think the proper term is dressing) with plenty of gravy plus a little turkey.
