Hoping 24 hours has alleviated most of the stench !
I thoroughly cleaned the inside of the incubator, opened the windows and baked a loaf of bread in the bread machine. Came home to the * smell of warm fresh baked bread. All is good.
Learned my lesson. If it's sus, do not trust. Or, when in doubt, throw it out.
