hybred .45 acp 1911??

I picked this up as a 'project' at a local gun show, I had most of the parts to complete it and just made up the 'reverse' main spring plug (it doesn't use a conventional bushing). what can I expect when I 'touch one off'?

    With the shorter barrel, a louder muzzle blast and a bit more recoil, which probably will not be noticeable. Very nice looking piece.

    You are in a better position to know than us. I think the superfluous holes will reduce muzzle rize and increase blast. People will talk about night sight and fire in the face, but such guns are widely used in competition with no complaints.

    Curious to know if the ports will blow your hat off your head? I suggest a gangsta dueling hold. Also goggles with a rubber strap.

    Interesting looking pistol. Never seen one with ports before, defiantly will be louder. Personally I don’t care for the checkering on the front strap but that is just me, I don’t like the feeling of checkering digging in to my hand. The caliber is perfect, again that is my preference for a defense pistol.
    Would be interested in hearing how it shoots after you get a chance to try it out.

    a night time shoot would be interesting.. nice little 45, a great find

    I did manage to get this shooting ( had to make a new reverse recoil spring plug). recoil was very manageable and once I got the micro rear sight adjusted it shot rather well. surprisingly it liked Remington 'white box' best. target was shot at 10 m with a 2 hand hold.

    That’s not bad at all. Is it much louder do you think? Hard to tell sometimes I know wearing ear plugs.

    "Is it much louder do you think?" yes, some. I can't wear plugs so it's muffs for me.

    Functionality is more important than accuracy. Today's guns are so reliable that we take it for granted, but malfunction can be a serious problem.
