Apple smart watch questions?????
Hot Momma had her first episode of Afib. Scared both of us!! Will this be a one off?? According to our MD son-in-law, maybe.
Hot Momma is 52, 5'5", 124, low blood pressure and walks for her exercise so a one off makes a certain amount of sense. She seems as healthy as the proverbial horse.
She has decided she wants a smart watch to monitor her heart rate, maybe even one that can do an EKG.
Here are my understandings. You get an Apple watch that must be at least a series four, I'm thinking a series seven, than you get an app so the Apple watch can communicate with her Apple phone and she can have her phone tell her if there is a problem. Am I missing something??
I should add that I am not a phone person. I'm still use a flip phone that I leave on a charger in my car, a land line in my house. So I am very sincere about "Am I missing something??"
To keep Momma from "complaining" (think female dog)😂 tell me what will be the best way to go that will give her a way to monitor her heart rate.

If she has an Android phone, there are also watches available to pair whit that phone. (I'm not an apple guy).

You do not need a separate app.
Wheb you buy the Apple Watch, you simply turn it on, then point your iPhone camera at the watch and it will sync.It will also track physical activity and record every single day and every activity if you wish to keep a log & can do the same with sleep and sleep apnea if wearing it while you sleep.

A guy I work with has an Apple watch paired to his phone. He was using a big hammer drill one day and the phone started telling him he was having a heart attack. He was not, but the watch thought all the bouncing around was a problem. 😮

My blood pressure has been up lately and wifey wants me to get a smart ring that links to my phone. All I want is a wrist band/watch that tells me the basics without apps & linking to my phone. Problem is that I can't find one that is only semi-smart.

I have an Apple watch and it is paired to my Apple I-16 phone, truck, & motorcycle. They will communicate all activities as long as they are in range, seems to be about 75 yards. You can get a phone plan for the watch, which gives in the same capabilities as your I-phone.
There are a number of apps you can download to the watch which will allow it to monitor specific activities. Parameters can be set and it will give alarms audibly and thru vibration.

My son-in law told us the watch would be a decent idea but he was a little light in his knowledge of the phones and the apps.
I'm trying to gather the information I need to make an informed decision on what I need to buy.
