We received 1.25” last night. It was a welcomed relief from the dry conditions here !

Had an inch in are rain gauge this morning, and probably an 1/8th inch in the bed room account of I forgot and left the window open last night. Oops! Love sleeping with the windows open at night.

Good luck with the deer this season.

Was gonna ask what is this rain you speak of since i can't remember when we had any until I went outside this morning and saw that the ground was not dusty and there was about an inch in the bed of my truck on the side that was sloped… guess we got some in the middle of the night, hope you can have your fire on hunt, I got a pile of branches I trimmed that need to burn but we are under a fire ban still.

1.7" in far north MO. Barely muddy and not enough to produce runoff. Cousin in south central IA had 2+" and said it was quite muddy there.

Put a stop to work on the wetland for a couple days— or maybe until next year if rain continues. Should sprout the rest of the wheat and cover crop rye we have planted.

Maybe safe to to use the fire pit in driveway again.

We need some rain bad. I use the farm pond down the road for a gauge. The animals are almost to the middle of the pond just to get water it is down far.

Going into winter with low levels in stock water 'ponds' is not good. I've shut off 3 water tanks so far and probably shutting down 2 more next week. Livestock has all been moved to other locations with better water supplies.🤔

We're supposed to get more today and sporadically throughout the next couple of weeks. This is a many faceted blessing. The livestock need it. The land needs it to help the winter grasses grow.

My deer hunting will be better. Leaves off the trees for a clear view through the underbrush (baby oaks). Damp leaves will muffle the sound of me trudging through the woods carrying everything but the kitchen sink. 😆

The deer will move back into their regular trail patterns with normal water sources replenished. I'm sure they have been visiting farm ponds and creeks they don't normally frequent.

Our concern for wildfires cutting us off will greatly diminish. The area in which we camp is a dead-end road. There are trails we could use to escape on our four wheelers but we would have to abandon our trucks, campers and trailers.

You explain the need very well. Here's hoping you get the rain.

Same here, it is starting to get very serious here. Still no rain predicted for next week.

We ended our water year (Oct 31) a bit above average. Got a new roof installed on that day, and got rain Saturday evening and overnight. Not much by Eastern standards - 0.38" - but it's a start. We depend on rain/snow for ALL our water, both drinking and agricultural.
