The minimum pull weight on the target 1911's shooting full power .45 ammo in the Bullseye target competition was four pounds. I can only assume that 4 to 8 pounds would be the desired trigger pull weight for any carry 1911.

Pull weight on my Kimber SCU is 2 lbs., factory.
Pull weight on other 1911s are 4 to 6 lbs.

In 1983 I bought a new 1911 that came from the custom shop, it has a trigger pull of 2.5 to 2.75 pounds pull weight when measured, and a very nice break, no slack to take up before it breaks. This year I bought a new 1911 70 series that colt started making again. This trigger pull was terrible, measured over 6.5 pounds, a creep before trigger brake. I took the sear and hammer notch and removed all the machine marks, and then polished the notches. Trigger pull now is 3.75 pounds and a nice clean break, no take up.
As far as what’s acceptable to me, it is: a trigger pull not over 4 pounds, and no creep between the hammer and the sear.

When I was in the county Fugitive Unit, we carried 1911s adjusted to a 4 pound crisp trigger pull with no takeup. Only Kimber or Springfield guns were permitted.
