My newer truck has a bed liner. I have a sheet of plywood on top of it. Makes it easier for my old body to crawl to the back.
My farm truck has a mat in it. I’ve had it since I think 1998. I just move it from truck to truck.

Farm pickup has a big 'job box' for tool storage, assorted chunks of 2x4-6x6 jack blocks, fence wire, and assortment of other stuff. During harvest: fuel transport tank, air compressor, various jugs/buckets of oil, pry bars, spare equipment tires, and whatever parts and pieces that might come in handy during the day. Generally, the bed is full. Often only room in the cab for the driver.

Time and gas wasted driving back home for something is unacceptable.

The old Nissan has a factory plastic bed liner with a milk crate tied in to keep small things from sliding. Tundra has a spray in liner and a lockable aluminum tool box.

My F150 has a tri-fold cover and a plastic liner. I recently added one of those ratcheting cargo bar bed dividers from harbor freight, plus a rubber mat that came out of my Jeep.

The cargo bar is kind of handy for keeping a big cooler by the gate.

Yeah, cheaper than my winch, but a lot of places here, I can go only 40 feet from the road. I gotta lot of rope.

That would be a big help, especially since you’d be so tired from driving that pole into the ground. 😁

Seriously, though, that is a clever idea. We’ve done it a lot using the hitch of another truck or 4-wheeler rather than the post.
