Good plan. That’s one reason I prefer low power, long eye-relief scopes over red dots.

This also inspired me to go on a walk-about looking for all of my battery powered stuff for a checkup!

I had 4 old penlight flashlights out in the shop that I hadn't used (or even thought about) for a few years. Two of them were trash due to leakage. The other two had dead batteries but were OK. I will replace the dead Duracells with new Energizers and gift them to grandkids.

I just thought the same thing, Joe. We have two sets of CT grips, and a red dot sight. I'll check them today or tomorrow. I better check my welding hood to.

Now I just got to wondering about some old watch batteries!! 😯

My Crimson Trace grips died while the battery was still fine. The button batteries don't seem to have the leak problems the others do.

I wondered about those RMRs that state 10 year "life" or some other thing. Them things ain't cheap but the batteries they hold are.
