No such model as the "New Colt" in .45acp.

But, if you stumbled across a new M1911 with SN #3, that would be a valuable gun.

OTOH, in recent years, Colt will let you special order a gun with a unique SN.

Serial numbers are interesting when it comes to Value Lets take two Icons of pistols #1 The Colt model 1873 This single action was first made 137 years ago. To have one of these that had survive that was made in its early years WOULD increase its value to a large amount. Other things would affect it would be if military contract pistol or civilian model and Most of all it's condition. The same thing could apply to a 1911. first shipped 1912. Now lets say you have a Colt double eagle yes a very low serial number would increase its value but not by much because #1 never popular and #2 made just a few years ago. now lets sy the pistol is a HY-Point "WHO would care a POS is always a POS" Many gun makers go out of their way to start serial numbers with large numbers in an attempt to limit the other companies from knowing how many said company are selling.

I've got a 1855 Colt Root, 1st variation with a serial # 16. Thats my favorite Root, just because of the #. They only made 300 + some of the 1st variation so the low # probably doesn't add much value.

And I have a Weatherby Patrician with a serial number of 99. Hardly been shot, and is worth...........let's just say not a lot. Think I will just keep it. :)

i have a springfield M1A1 made in Devine TX. NM with serial# 000175[:p][:0][8D], i think it would make it pretty scarce, and a good valuable gun.[^][8D]. so i do think low #'s and scarcity make a difference.

OH--yea, and it sank in the boat mishap[:(][:0][:(]
