Help Indentify This Revolver
I picked this revolver up at a local auction.
Can anyone help me indentify the manufacturer.
On the top of the barrel it reads: Use US Standard Ammunition
On the side of the barrel it reads: 38 Special CTG.
Under the trigger guard it reads: Made in Spain
I paid $400, good deal or not?
Thanks for any info you can provide

trapshooter870,
From the circular trademark, which looks like "ALFA", your gun may be one of these:
ALFA Tradename of Armero Especialistas Reunidas (Spain) c. 1920.
Someone else can tell you more.[;)]0 -
Yeap. you have a Spanish copy of the sw1905 patten. See page 89, Illustration #551 in the
"Illustrated encyclopedia Of handguns" by A.B. Zhuk.0 -

It is in really nice shape, but I think you paid too much for it, which is not unusual at a live auction.0 -
If you bought it to resell at a profit you overpaid.
If you bought it to use and enjoy you're right on the money.0 -
Clean looking,,but yea,,imo,,to much but who hasn't.[:I] 0 -
Just because it looks nice, don't be fooled. Generally these Spanish copies are not of as good of quality as the American models they copy. Do some research to determine what ammo is safe to shoot. Likely will be in the low pressure range. 0 -

Thanks for the info. 0 -
The $400 might be OK if it was real Smith, but its too much for a Spanish copy of a Smith. 0
