m-7 colt bayonets

I have a colt marked bayonets, Im wondering about the history of these. they are supposedly vietnam era and not a bunch made. they are in un-issued condition.I have been told maybe 3000 made.. they have a USm8a1 scabbard.did colt make some rejects that got stored for the last 40+ years does anyone remember being issued one ?.
I have reserched a bit and checked some books but turn up nothing.
they are stamped with the rampant colt,and part # 62316 on the blade.
if anybody knows about these I would like to get the history on them.

    Tens of thousands of M7's were either made by Colt or for Colt by others and marked Colt from 62-90. You will need a militaria/bayonet/Colt expert.

    I wont even comment on that miss information.you apparently dont look at a lot of bayonets.
    anybody else have any info that might be helpfull??

    Nice first post.

    There were about 20,000 Colt contracted bayonets with a green handle and marked 62082. A lot were also marked Armalite. Supposedly they were delivered to the Air Force.

    The 62316 you reference was one of about 30,000 made by Imperial for Colt. They have been turning up quite frequently as of late selling for anywhere from $59 to about $100.

    62316 Colt marked bayonets sell for $40-60 around here.
