Date of manufacture, S&W

Could someone please tell me when this 28-2 was made, N172749. It followed me home, LNIB, with papers and tools.

  It was shipped from the factory in 1973. Could have been made a week or months before.

  Thanks for the reply. That is a long time to sit around in a box. It may need to get out for some use tomorrow.

  Model 28's in the condition you list are not that common. However, they do not bring the price of a similar Model 27. Shoot and enjoy.
