Morning jx~ It might have a different trigger.. Kenyon was a popular assembly.. Might try this..

Remove the stock.. Look for a release on the trigger assembly.. I can't recall the details, but you may need to pull or push the trigger as you work the release..

Don't know if this will work but----.
To remove the bolt on a Jap repro of the 52 sporter you pull the trigger, hold the trigger forward with your thumb, open bolt and remove.
Let us know if it works.

As said- clear rifle, release safety pull rigger to drop striker. Push trigger forward BEFORE opening bolt, and hold trigger forward, Open bolt, withdraw.

I believe the trigger is a kenyon trigger; is anyone familar with bolt removal on a kenyon trigger.

the "Kenyon" trigger is just a modified 'micro motion' trigger that Karl rebuilt the right way. This rebuild removes the option to remove the bolt while the rifle is in the stock, you can't push the trigger far enough forward to activate the bolt release. remove the rifle from the stock (or remove the trigger guard), with the rifle cocked, pull the trigger, push the trigger forward, then lift the bolt and remove.

Mike.. Isn't there a release just in front of the trigger that has to be pulled down as well ? I seem to remember that was needed to bring the sear down a bit further to remove the bolt..

OK.. Did some googlin'.. Here's what I'm talking about.. I had one many years ago ( 60's ) , and I remember the release..

" For the 52 Karl has a pull down pin in front of the trigger blade for bolt release. It is about 3/4 inch ahead of the trigger blade mount and requires a hole in front of the guard. You can see that without removing the stock. Pushing the trigger forward will not release the bolt as done on factory triggers "

Edit to keep it under 10 posts..

That's it jx.. Dokey, we're talkin' Kenyon here.. The trigger assembly should be marked.. jx.. The mod's lock a thread after 10 posts.. If that happens, just start a new thread.. Remember, the firing pin needs to be un-cocked so the sear can be lowered..

Hangfire there is a hole about an inch in front of the trigger guard and there is a pin visable. This could be the release pin you are talking about. I will give it a try tommorow; and I'll let you know if it releases the bolt.

The release you're refering to is on the Canjar trigger
