Refinishing AR-15 Mags

I have several Colt 30 round surplus AR15 mags. All function flawlessly but look bad. Has anyone had good luck refinishing the bodies on these? I think they are all aluminum bodied. What type paint or finish will work well on these and be more durable than the original? I would also like to keep the color as close to original as possible {flat grey]. Any help appreciated.

  Don't paint them, could cause jaming. Use some aluminum polish and take them down to original.

  The Gun-Kote flat dark gray finish is real close to the early mags. I have a dozen of these and have had no fit or feeding issues. The finish thickness isn't like the paint on your house.

  Agree with K-G Gun-Kote. We refinished a bunch and the coating is not thick enough to add to the size of them.

  I have powder coated a few of them tan. Tough finish
