savage .22 single shot lever

I am looking to replace my first rifle.It was a single shot savage with an octagon barrel.it was lever action with an exposed hammer.I dont know what the model was.Someone stole it and I would like to buy another one.I bought it new back in 1988.Does anyone know what model this would be?

  If it was one of the ones that fired 22 shot, long and LR, then it was most likely a Stevens Favorite. They are great guns. I had one as a kid and am currently rebuilding one. I also have the Savage Model 30G that just came out, it too is a great gun, absolutely great with rabbits and squirrels. Good luck getting a new (old) one, there are some great ones on GB and {elsewhere}.

  If it is the 30G Favorite go for the .17 model.
