You need to give us more information, of what you are looking to do, and what your preferrence is. Two stage, single stage, competition use, varmint, or just standard stuff.

I went with a Rock River Arms 2 stage on my "I have all these spare parts, let's build an extra AR" project - $99.00 from AR15Sales.com, shipping included. Next would be CMMG from Brownells for $100.00. They're both 2 stage and of the "very good" category. Lots of others out there are better and more expensive, but these are all around reliable and nice pull.

On the other end is stoning a single stage issue set, I've done that too and it can come out very good too.

I've assembled some lowers with RRA "single stage match" triggers. They're better than the standard milspec but I found it tricky to go from one to the other w/o having a shot or two get away from me.

Just go to a gun store that has several to choose from. Go with the smoothest. You shouldn't feel much difference with a single stage from a double except double stage triggers seem to have a longer pull travel for proper functioning. A double stage has a disconnector hook that holds the hammer when your finger is all the way back on the trigger. When you let the trigger go forward the hammer's bottom engages the front of the trigger & holds it there after the disconnector lets go. Double Star has a smooth pull on their double stage lowers. The Drop-in single stage assemblies such as the Timney seems to have set screws to push the assembly up against the FCG pins and therefor stops the pins from rotating on the receiver. Keep in mind military style coatings can cause unwanted friction until broken in.
