My books are gone, but I belive the .280 Dubiel was on the full length 2.85" H&H Magnum case. I think it had more shoulder than the .275 H&H but was still rather tapered by modern standards.

From July, 2010 Precision Shooting "John Dubiel" by Michael Petrov

Two cartridges carry the Dubiel name, the .276 Dubiel & .280 Dubiel.
Charles Askins and John Dubiel worked together developing the .276 Dubiel. They first worked with the .30-06 case, then adopted the .275 H&H Magnum case, John changing the shape of the shoulder and necking the case to 7-mm. The Western Cartridge Company made ammunition for the rifle and put it on the market. The .280 Dubiel was made by necking down the .300 H&H case to .28 caliber. The barrels were cut with a groove diameter of .2885" and bullets were made the same diameter. Elmer Keith did a lot of experimenting and wrote a lot about the .280 Dubiel cartridge. Keith fired five five-shot groups with the .280 at 500 yards from the prone position using 180 grain bullets. The largest group measured 5-inches and the smallest 2 ?" center to center.
