Colt Commando WWII
Trying to help a friend value a WWII Colt Commando. Origional condition 95% to 97%. I can find little information but apparently a lot of them were issued to various security companies during the war. On thlis one on the left side of the frame toward the top near the hammer is an "8" and on the right side toward the grip to the rear of the trigger guard is a "VT". I know what the blue book has for a value but not sure what real world prices are.

Need quality photos for accurate identification and valuation.
Type of finish and barrel length has baring on value. Commandos were not nearly as common as Victory models.
EDIT #1, Most common variation was barrel length. 2" not nearly as common as the 4" Commandos. Also markings some had military acceptance markings similarly to the S & W Victories. Others were unmarked or had defense contractor security markings.
As far as numbers there were probably 15 to 20 of the S & W's, as compared to the Colts.
Still would like to see some quality photos of the OP's Commando.0 -
