    I looked in the Ammunition/Firearm shipping sticky, but can't tell if it is legal to ship unprimered, unloaded, empty cartridge cases. Anyone got the answer? Thanks,

    Yes, they're not corrosive, explosives, or live ammo. I've received shipments in USPS with no issues.

    It's much cheaper and easier to ship in the bulk rate boxes provided by the PO then shipping it by UPS. The boxes are free for the asking in any PO. Pack the brass as much as the box will hold in double strength plastic bags and tape the ends of the box with high strength tape.


    EDIT #1, I to have received ammo through the PO. They have a deal now with Fedex, that FedEx delivers a package to the local PO and the PO delivers it. It's not only utilized for ammo but other things as well. I guess as long as the ammo is handled by FedEx between the distributor and the local PO, it's legal as far as the feds are concerned?

    I hadn't thought of the flat rate boxes, but that makes the best sense. Thank you both.

    as the others have said the 'flat rate' boxes are the way to go. just to note, I just received 3 boxes of loaded ammo from midway usps[;)]
