double barrel [?] bolt action [?] pump [?] auto [?] condition . We need more information it could be a wreak and he over paid or it could have been an O/U made by a good maker for Sears and a closet Queen and he got a great buy. 410 shotguns bring more money as a rule then large bore guns. 0 -
Sorry, A model 21 Ted Williams is a .410 pump made by High Standard or J.C.Higgins depending on DOM. At 98% it books at $210 0 -
AUCTION... is the reason, people go crazy and pay more than things are worth if two or three get to bidding on same item. 0 -
It went to $400 with a lot of bidders then setled down to 3 bidders including one woman. My only explanation is that maybe it was a family item 0 -
In my experience, multi round .410's such as doubles or pump do tend to bring a premium. By far most were single shot. 0 -
I think you nailed it yd52. Maybe they needed a functional gun to go with their judge really bad. 0 -

Note that J. C. Higgins was not a manufacturer. It was just a trade name used by Sears until the early 1960's when the began to use the Ted Williams name. High Standard manufactured all the Model 21 for Sears. It was a new design designed for Sears and initially produced only for Sears Eventually it was marketed under the High Standard name and after Sears stopped buying it, it was made for a number of other large distributors. Beginning in 1969 and continuing through about 1973, Sears bought the .410 version of the model 21 again.0 -

Auction,,,that sums it up,,unless I had a gun at it,,then nothing..I saw a Raven with a lady bidder continue to hold her hand up until it sold,,,price,,like 425..[|)] 0 -
Was it a estate auction? I have seen guns sell for 3-4 times their worth when the children or grandchildren get to bidding against each other. 0
