16ga Browning A5 2 9/16" ?

    Yes it will have a 2 9/16 chamber unless it has already had the chamber lengthened. I believe the change to 2 3/4" chamber occured in 1927i or 1928. There is quite a bit of gunsmithing required to lengthen the chamber and make it work with 2 3/4" shells. The ejection port has to be lengthened and other parts modified. This is not a job for an amateur or parts exchanger.

    speaking from experience..........7 parts have to be modified to make this work right. however you can buy 16 ga. 2 9/16" ammo from several suppliers.

    All Pre War (WWII) guns wll be 2 9/16" unless already converted.

    Polywad and Gamebore both make quality 2 9/16" 16 gauge cartridges.

    If you are interested in reloading, MEC makes a short shell adapter for their presses. Ballistic Products has a miriad of components and a load manual dedicated to the 16 gauge.
