Selling Ammo for collecting and shipping
I have a bunch of odd/old and/or collectible ammo I would like to sell. They include 20 round boxes of Norma .44 Auto-Mag, 4 different pistol calibers of Winchester Black Talon ammo, a full 25 round box of Winchester, US military, brass case 12 ga. "00" buck - W.R.A. lot# 22028 and boxes of 375 H&H, 270 Weatherby and 7mm Magnum rifle ammo. The oddest is a full 20 round slip top box of U.S. military, 45-70 ceremonial black powder blanks.
My questions are:
Would I would get more selling the collectible ones a piece at a time or as a box?
The box the brass Winchester shotgun shell are in is complete but in pretty bad shape. The sides are pretty much intact but the bottom has separated all the way around. Would it be better to leave it as is or to tape it up?
The "evil" Black Talon ammo was, at one time, restricted by name in my state and grounds for enhanced penalties if use in a crime. Would it be legal to ship? Or, will I need to find out on a State by State basis?
Would the black powder cartridges be subject to more restrictions or fees than smokeless powder loads?

sell the "boxes" of specific caliber separate,,44 auto, 375, 270 Wby, as well as the one box of Winchester full brass case,,,rest?
The ammo I mentioned is shooter ammo, as a lot,,people will buy it as that. The full brass Winchester,,collectable, rest,,is it worth it.0 -
I agree with mm8nambu. I would have interest in 1 or 2 of those but not the majority. Sell as a "lot" by caliber or sell individual boxes. You will do better than as a complete lot sale. 0 -
Shipping will be a PITA.
Nononsense has posted a sticky on shipping ammo, but I believe that both UPS & Fedex have changed their rules since that was posted.
I can tell you that Fedex requires your shipment to meet DOT packing regs, & they will only ship if it is a scheduled pick up. (They won't accept it at a hub or Fedex Office stores.)

I sell lots of collectible ammo. Sell each box separately , ship UPS. Mark the box ORM-D in a box. It is supposed to have small arms ammunition in the box also but I never bother. I used to drop it off at a ups depot. Now I meet a driver. They are on a schedule so it's easy to find him. Be sure you don't try to ship US mail 0
