Slugs in Choked Shotgun Part 2
Having reread the original post I now realize it said the information was on the choke not the barrel.
Stamped on the choke is: PRIMOS-REM.20.570. and is blued steel 3 1/4" long.
I posted again to see if the choke information gave any reason for a change in suggestions

Yep, that is a turkey choke, with 0.570" constriction. It should throw a patern of #6's from a turkey load, to about the same size as your groups with slugs will be at 30 yards. It will NOT handle slugs well, and there is no adjusting that choke.

I assume I can order a different choke that would allow using slugs???
What choke would you recommend for this 20GA 870??

They might make a "rifled" choke tube. That would work for sabot slugs like Horaday SST's or Remington Core Lokt's $$$$$ Or get an improved cylinder tube and shoot rifled slugs.$0 -

Anything Modified or wider will work fine.0 -
That was the only choke I got.
I bought it from a friend who happen by today and said he would check and see if there were any more chokes that came with it.
If not I will order one for slugs.

If you are going to shoot a sabot that cost 2.00 plus a shot just get a fully rifled bore and be done with it. Don't even bother with an inch and a half of rifling at 1-35 twist.
An IC rem choke is inexpensive comparatively just pick one up.0 -

+10 My wife has a 870 20ga.,she uses the I/C choke as reccomended by Remington. She shoots rem high velocity rifled slugs. Works very well for her.0 -
I will not be shooting sabots. So, no new barrel.
I will get the IC-Rem choke as recommended for the one ounce 1350FPS Centurion slugs i just received from SGAmmo.
Great price on these.
Paid $144.50 shipped for 50 boxes X 10 =500 rounds; made in Italy.
Most slugs I see run around a dollar a round so had to have these (They were a closeout + they have a similar deal on 12GA Nobel ball slugs)
I can shoot these slugs in the Win 1200 until I get the IC choke for the 870
Thanks again for all the great info. I do have the sense to know when I am ignorant and ask advise and would not have shot the choked SG until i had solid replies to insure i did not turn ignorance into stupidity
