Opinions abouy Norinco .45
I have a chance to get one and wonder if I can "steal" it, is it worth trying to re-sell it.

I had one of the A1 pistols it was descent and fairly accurate for what it was. I only paid 175 for it about 4yrs ago 0 -
IMO, probably not worth it trying to re-sell it unless you really do "steal" it.
Even if you get it at $100 less than fair market value (which is probably about $450) anless you are able to flip it locally in face-to-face transactions, by the time you tack in shipping, transfer fees, and hassle-factor/value of your time, I doubt there would be much "juice" left in a quick flip.
I think the real question is, is the gun itself any good?
I've only seen one of these. Interestingly, it belongs to a local firearms instructor/former law enforcement who uses it as his house gun (that says something, I guess). Anyway I never shot it personally, but the gun seemed to function fine when he used it, and for what its worth, he says it works as well as any Colt he's shot.
My understanding on these is that the frames are nice and tough (they're actually forged), but the fit and finish can be variable, ranging from good to terrible.
Its probably not a great gun in its own right, but lots of people use these as a base for custom builds, and if I could get one cheap, I'd certainly consider that.0 -
If your figuring on resale, don't put over $200 in it. With 1911's coming in from Turkey and the P.I., the low end of the market is saturated. The only way you could move it easily, would be to undersell them. 0 -
I worked a show 2 weeks ago wtih a buddy that is a dealer, we took 2 of 'em in on trade for 225 each (separate deals) and sold each for 300 in a very short time.
From what I recall, the Norincos were the best non-USA made 1911 available for a little while...0 -
I've had one for about 8-10 years. It is well built, and I like it almost as well as my Colt. Right now I have a Kimber 22 conversion slide and barrel on it and it shoots great. I wouldn't buy one to resell, but would get one to shoot or carry if the price was right. 0 -
I owned one for about 10 years till a fit of gun-trading insanity reared it's head and I traded it off . Finish wasn't the greatest but it never once let me down . Probally one of the most reliable guns i ever owned 0 -

I always say if you don't really want the gun let the other guy get a deal. Buying to sell just raises prices for eveyone involved. Leave the greed to the dealers. 0 -
I bought one new back 17-18 years ago, wish I had bought a dozen. Never had any feed issues, functions as it should, fit seems good, finish was even and looked good just different from what you are used to on commercial guns. Actually hard to believe it's a Norinco since it is a couple of steps better in workmanship than any other numerous Norinco guns. 0 -
