I would like to have specific information on this model. Serial No., who made, and stock types? Thanks in advance

This was a variation of the M1903 rifle made by the Springfield Armory prior to WW2. Characterized by the type C (semi-pistol grip stock), checkered butt plate, & serrated trigger. I don't know specific serial number ranges.

EDIT: Not exactly as your friend describes. The War Dept ordered the Remington rifles with PG stocks, & the designation for them was to be "M1903A1". But, the shortage of walnut stock blanks caused them to request a change to the straight stocks from the War Dept, & none were ever assembled. (When they laid out the patterns on the blanks, they could get 1 more stock if they used the straight grip pattern.) PG stocks were used by Remington only on the M1903A4 sniper rifle, along with some "scant" stocks that had just a little swell on the pistol grip. Bottom line: your friend's rifle has a replacement stock, & is just a normal Remington 1903. Scant stock:

I do not have one, but a friend has a remington 1903 with a 3,000,000 plus No. He says it is a 1903a1, 3000001 to 3480000 serial No. range, and were listed a modified version of the springfield 1909a1. The remingtons had a straight stock, and the springfields had the type C stock. What were the No. of the springfield 1903a1s? 0 -
That's an A4 bolt and an A4 Redfield Junior scope mount. Let's see the whole receiver, scope and serial number marking. On the A4,the markings are below the scope mount. 0 -
His has a straight grip stock and is not a scant stock. 0 -

On the 1903A4, the receiver ring markings are on either side of the scope mount base, not underneath it. 0 -

You have either a 1903 A3 or 1903A4 not an A1. The only Springfield
anything like A1 was the early 1903 adapted for the Pederson device
and marked Mk1 on the tang.
Provide the pictures asked for and we can give you more info.

A 1903A1 is a 1903 with a Type C pistol grip stock. Period.
The C stock was standardized on March 15, 1928
The first serial number for Jan 1, 1928 was 1285266
There is no day by day breakdown.
I have READ that in spite of the standardization of the C stock, the only rifles originally fitted with one were the National Match models. The rest just got T stocks with straight grips.0 -
