Marlin 39D matte finish?
I saw a very nice Marlin 39D for sale yesterday at a local pawn shop for $350. The metal finish is matte, similar to todays matte finished scopes. Did Marlin ever make a 39D with this type finish? If not, maybe I should pass on it since it might be refinished. These were only made in the early 70's, right? I am not aware of any early Marlins with a matte finish so I thought I'd better ask. Thanks for anything you can share on this rifle.

never seen matte finish....but i am not an expert..maybe hiding sandpaper or steel wool job ????....if mechanicals are great and you want just a shooter maybe a price haggle ?? 0 -
