Found the answer in a On-Line post from web that had a portion of the J.D. Woods book "Gun Digest Book of Firearms Assembly/Disassembly, Part 2: Revolvers". Dis assembly of the cylinder / Extractor parts is accomplished by putting the extractor post in an electric drill chuck to hold it while you manually unscrew it from the extractor, by rotating the cylinder. The write up suggests putting an "Unfired" cartridge in the cylinder to help stabilize the extractor during the process. This works!!! I now have my 38 DA 3rd model disassembled except for the front site and several leaf springs that are pressed into several of the smaller parts. Not messing with those! Next is find instructions on how to make a cylinder stop. I think I read somewhere that the same book has the info. This will be quite the chore. Having miked that portion of the cylinder stop that I do have, we are talking about dimensions in the .090 width, and .015 at the thinnest. I wonder if I can do that with a Dremel, bi-focals & cheater glasses?

I would go on the S&W collector's site There has to be someone that would have those parts. or some to lead you to such a person. I would ask around and see if any hobby machinist in your area.
