Anschutz Rear sight removal

Hello,

Could someone please tell me which direction the rear sight of an Anschutz model 1418 is removed.

Is it drifted Left to right or right to left when as you look from butt to front sight?

  Always an interesting question. I would doubt it has a strong taper as it was made to hold adjustments. You could look with a hand lens for marks on base left when it drivin in. A good set of dividers might be able to detect a slight taper. I would brass drift from the left towards the right gently and see what happens.
  
  Make sure there aren't any locking screw(s).
