Wartime (or right after) Model 70 Win
I have a chance to get this Model 70 30-06 SN 73xxx.

When I saw the pic I fully expected the floor plate to be marked Super Grade. The seller, who's selling for a critically ill friend, says the floor plate is unmarked. Grip cap is marked "Winchester". Did they do anything differently during the war as to configurations or ??? I can get it at a fair price, but the gun is out-of-state so I can't get my hands on it. The seller will send any pics I request. Any thoughts on originality or ...?
Thanks.

About the main changes for that time period was athe "transition" safety and the change in the rear tang from looking like a Springfield 1903 to the present style. 0 -
that picture does look like a Super Grade stock. 0 -

I think this should do it. Gonna use up all my 10 posts before I get a pic up. [;)]

Have them send pics of the front sight without the shroud. ......and the serial number. The stock may be a replacement. 0 -
