Chinese Type 54 Tokarev Value
Hi,
I just picked up a Chinese Type 54, 7.62 Tokarev, no safety, Chinese characters and serial number on top of slide, serial number, factory number, and year of manufacture on left side of frame.
Unfortunately a previous owner had it reblued, chromed the hammer, and gold plated the trigger.
Any opinions as to its value?

maybe $200 if mechanically good...might get more with pic holding it sideways & show off the bling 0 -

it's a solid piece with a very smooth, tight action. it was apparently a vet bringback. i was quite dismayed when i saw what was done to it, but bought it anyway as a shooter. i will definitely replace the bling with blued parts.

I think Toks without safeties go for around $600. Capture papers increase value.
Being plated cuts collectors value.
I sent home a Russian Tokarev that very well may have been nickel plated in China or North Korea as there were no facilities in S'Korea then. We were stockpiling Russian arms for friendlies so captured guns couldn't be legally brought or sent home.
Putting a bullet through a fresh, creosoted RR tie gave me a lot of respect for the TT33.
I'd keep it and shoot it.0 -
have one now and have had several of these..even thought about building a small single shot rifle for the 7.62x25 for fun but never got around to it 0 -
Hello fellow TT 'ers
I picked up 2 Chinese shooters from an estate sale. One has two extra barrels and springs for 9mm and 38 Super. One is 9mm only, having the 'spacer' in the mag well , not on/in the Magazine. I have not been able to find any of these 9mm mags. If anyone has a lead, I would appreciate it.
I would also like to smooth out the long, creepy, triggers. The hammer and short spring assembly are a challenge I will not attempt without having a replacement on hand (dare I mess it up ). This assembly looks like a great potential for a 'drop in' replacement....but it would probably cost as much as the guns are worth.
Any advice ?0
