Probably the nearest one to Seattle is the Kenmore Gun Club, in the suburb of Kenmore, just north of Seattle. Some others are south near Olympia; and there are quite a few short (pistol) ranges in the basements of some gun stores. Check the Washington Dept of Fish & Wildlife website and click on A Place To Shoot.

I too left CA in '07 and moved to WA. Loved living in on the Seattle side but now live in the middle part of the state. There are a few indoor ranges scattered around Seattle. There is a nice outdoor range in Renton that you can shoot shotguns, rifles and handguns. Renton is very close to Seattle.

You are in for some gun culture shock though..WA is a Shall Issue state, unlike CA May issue. So get your carry permit as you won't have to deal with waiting periods on handguns if you have it. Super easy to get to too..no classes req and the permit is good for 5 years.

There are 2 Cabelas in the Seattle area and lots of gun shops. Some good and some are just overpriced tacticool stores. There is also a huge gun show in Puyallup once a month. We also do not have that approved handgun list like CA and no magazine capacity restrictions. Suppressors are legal to own and use here. Full auto is not. They are working on getting short barreled rifles and shotguns to be legal. Certain AOW are allowed. Welcome to WA!
