.50-70 brass
I just came across a few old .50-70 cases. The heads are stamped with the name "DWM". Anyone recognize the name? Any idea how old they might be?

DWM is a German firearms and munitions manufacturer. The initials stand for "Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken"
The brass cases you have were probably meant for the European metric 12.17 X 44 cartridge. It was quite similar to our 50-70.0 -
It would have been used as a hunting cartridge in single shot Remington Rolling Block rifles, in Scandinavia up to W W II. 0 -
I appreciate the help.[:)] I'll probably never use them, but they'll go just fine in my collection. 0
