ruger 77 value
What would the value of a ruger 77 round-top, in 257 Roberts be? The rifle is new in the box, never been fired. However, there is some corrosion on the bolt and extractor, probably from setting a long time with no oil or contamination from somewhere? Thank You

If none of our folks can help, you might check the auctions. Even if you can't find one recently sold in 257 R, you might get an idea of value through other calibers that have sold. Rugers are real popular firearms, and have been made in great quantity over the years. Lots turn up on the auctions.
EDIT #1 The benefit of legitimate auctions is that they give you real insight on the actual current fair market value of the item.
As long as their isn't any hanki-panki going on like shill bidding or ending auctions early, they are a positive indication of actual street value.
I don't mean to pee in any of the other posters cheerios. But if you got a Ruger rifle on the auction for $750 minimum and nobody bids on it. It ain't worth $750 to any body but you.0 -
Five hundred seventeen dollars and sixty-two cents. In my opinion. 0 -
that's my gun and worth every penny. I would never sell it for less

That is an old round top, NIB, with a little blemish on the bolt and extractor? The early tang safty models with no warning marking on the barrel, are very desirable by some collectors , if in high condition. If you are able to clear up the blemish, you are looking atat least, at a $700.00 rifle, if it has all the stuff in the box it should. The 257 Bob is a very desirable chambering.

My 1971 tang safety ruger 243 does not have any kind of safety warning on the rifle that I can see. Where and what is it supposed to say? 0
