1891 S&W with history:1920's Olympic Gold

Hello,
Long time gunbroker client here, first time post in the message forums.
So here is my question:
If you had a chance ( I do) to own a Smith and Wesson Model 1891 22 target revolver with two Olympic barrels, that has a ton of paper work showing that it belonged to the infamous Dr. Snook who won the 1920 Pistol Shooting Gold medal with this very same revolver......what do you think it would be worth ?

    One of a kind anything is hard to value. You might contact some of large auction houses, who specialize in high end collectable firearms. They might be able to provide some guidance, regarding the S & W.

    Still need to see the gun.
    I don't think they made the 1891 as a .22 target REVOLVER, all the target versions I know of are single shot .22 barrels on the .38 revolver frame.

    Nice article TRAP55.

    I am not sure what this kind of provenance would bring to this piece, but I am sure it would add some value, if the documentation is solid. While it might not add to the value as much if it were Jessie James, or Wyat Earpp, it will definately add some.

    If one could get it at the right price, it could very well be an investment.
