It sure looks like a knock-off of a KelTec to me.

Since the advent of the internet, I don't buy anything before GOOGLEing and doing as much research as I can. It has saved me from getting stuck with some bodacious turds.

Safety, sights, improved fit and finish over a Kel Tec.

Don't know a thing about them. But it looks nicer than the Kel Tec I've been carrying for a few years.

    How does it shoot?

    boltaction,

They used to be named "SKYY", but the Vodka company, SKYY, sued them. ...though still pronounced "SKY".

Mag release is in the wrong place and you keep dropping mags when you don't want to

"SCCY" (Formerly "SKKY") company was founded by ex-Kel Tec employees and the gun itself is a direct knock off of the Kel-Tec P11, supposedly with some "improvements" including a frame safety.

The guns had issues with quality control when they first came out, and there were reports of cracked frames, unreliable function, etc.

Don't know if they've been fixed by now (but I'd hope so).

Anyway, I won't slag on these too much since I've never actually fired one, but I will make the following observations:

1- Kel-Tec P11 (which I have fired) is rather boxy, with a really heavy creepy DA trigger. This one makes sense if you want to share magazines with your double-stack Smith auto (that feature alone dates this gun!). In my opinion, as a stand-alone gun, the single-stack PF-9, is much better for contemporary concealed carry in just about every way: weight, thickness, trigger, sights.

    2. I don't want a manual safety on a double-action only gun. For me that's a deal killer. Apparently SCCY now offers a version without the safety.

    3. Kel Tec customer service is reportedly excellent, and I suspect Kel-Tec will still be doing business in ten years. SCCY. . .? ? ?
