EDIT: made a mistake, the slide for the 45 is unmarked, original configuration was 45 with original slide, and converted to a 22 lr, with original slide being modified to allow for conversion. My understanding there were two different companies in Argentina that did these conversions. Venturini and Industrias Marcati. Marcati conversion is permanent and cannot be changed back into a 45, so I am guess thats why the extra slide and 45 acp barrel.
frame and slide have matching serial numbers, 1952 mfg, original slide marked dgfm fmap and other side, sn, topslide marked with serial number, 739xx, policia dela pronvicia de buenos aires.

IMHO in it's present condition it has substantial collectors value. Having it substantially reworked/altered by a gunsmith so that it's no longer in the condition it was when it was used as a trainer by the Argentine's, would negatively affect that value. 0 -
When you say frame is unmarked is there any proof or inspector marks [?]How about serial number on frame[?]If you need to convert What configuration did it originally come as . Most conversion unit dont need any Gunsmith work to operate on a 45ACP frame. . I agree with RUFE SNOW if you modify you WILL lose Value on the pistol. 0 -
In the photos I see a US Property marked 1911A1. Is the .22 conversion kit the only part that is Argentine? I agree with perry shooter that no gunsmithing is normally required to install the conversion kit. Instructions as to do it are probably available on this forum. 0
