Mini 14 Stock
I have a new Mini 14 ,and would like a folding stock...any suggestions?

Need a synthetic replacement stock for a used mini 14. Is there any one thats better than the other. Bell and Carlson, Ramline , Hogue ?? 0 -
I have a Ram-Line on an older Mini-14, the butt folds up and the stock in back of the pistol grip swings forward alongside the right side. I picked it up at a local gun shop for around $25 bucks on a whim. I find it a bit awkward to use with the stock folded, it's too front heavy in my opinion. 'Course, the flashlight and flash hider might be contributing to that also. I usually fold the stock to carry but extend it when actually firing the rifle. It's not a terribly comfortable stock to shoulder fire either but I think some of that is the nature of the beast. The factory wood stock is comfortable but doesn't fold up and go under the seat of the truck so ........
Bottom line, I wouldn't put a whole lot of money in one unless you are really sure you want it. Try to try one out first, you may decide to keep the original stock

I've been extremely satisfied with the Butler Creek folders I've had on Mini-14/30s. Choate makes a similar type one to Butler Creeks, but I've only had Choate's on Marlin Camp and M1 carbines -- and think they're excellent.
Right now, if I were going to try a folder on a new Mini-14, I think I'd give a try to the one Ruger sells (it's an Advanced Technologies stock):
