    Most likely 25 Stevens.

EDIT, To the best of my knowledge all of the older Winchester rimfire ammo used the "H" headstamp. This was to honor a man named BT Henry who designed the first lever action rifle chambered for rimfire cartridges. This rifle was sold by the company that would later become Winchester.

My guess is the .25 Stevens Rimfire cartridge. Made for the Stevens Crack Shot #15 rifle, which came out in 1900.

Also for the Stevens Favorite, manufactured from 1894 - 1935.

Remington and Winchester also had rifles chambered in the .25 Stevens.

The high cost of the ammo compared to .22LR contributed to it becoming obsolete.

One headstamp P is for the Peters Cartridge Co.

The H headstamp was used back then by Winchester probably because Western was using the W at the time.

Remington was using the U for it's headstamps on rimfire ammo.

I also wouldn't have an idea of each cartridges value, as the box is long gone.

    Randy,
Yes, I'm in total agreement, 25 Stevens rimfire. I have a Stevens Favorite in 25 RF. Just sold a Favorite in 32 rimfire on the auction side.

The OAL is right in the range for the 25 Stevens LONG.
I doubt the 25 Stevens SHORT as it has a OAL in the 0.867 range.
Note all my 25 Stevens RF's have .251 bullet diameters.

I found a few .25 Stevens some time ago.

If I remember right they brought about $1 each plus shipping.

I just notified the owner as to what he had. Now he wants me to sell it for him. There are not as many rounds as I thought though. We counted them, and there's 54.
