1917 Enfield stock

I found the old stock to a 1917 Enfield left over from a project 40 some years ago. I was going to put it for sale and noticed looking at pictures of other Enfields that this one is shorter. Does someone know what it is?

I had the barrel at one time but could not find it.

  Could be a cut down stock. The barrel I got with was short as well. It had the same military sights as a normal barrel. I got it from someone who owed me money, so I know nothing if its history. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through contouring it but then again I've done some crazy stuff too.
